Here at St G’s we’re busy getting everything ready for Christmas. We love Christmas, and what better way to celebrate Jesus’ birthday than in Church. We have something for everyone this Christmas. From our Christingle Service to a pop-up Nativity where you can come dressed as your favourite character. From our Carol Service to Midnight Mass. And as a Church In Wales Church we offer a warm welcome to everyone. If you’ve never been before or at least not for a while, our Christmas Services mean that Christmas is the easiest time to drop in. We’d love to see you!
This is a letter being given out to everyone in Church on 20th November about a new policy we’re adopting in line with the Church in Wales changes to who can take communion which take effect from Advent Sunday (27/11/16). letter-to-parish-about-communion-201611
We were privileged to share in a wonderful occasion this past Sunday morning as five adults were baptised and another reaffirmed her baptismal promises! Congratulations to Caroline, Catherine, Lynne, Karen, Rob and Stan! We believe this is only the beginning of the “immeasurably more” that the Lord has in store for us. Come and see what Jesus is doing today.
Our weekly parish notice sheet, The Waterfall, has a smart new look. It’s easier on the eye and better to read, and it’s also available on our website! Check out the new page here, or look under the What’s On menu up at the top of every page. Back issues will be available there too in due course.
As agreed at the last PCC meeting, we are changing our service times on a Sunday morning. From now on we will be meeting at 11am at St Gwladys’. The first of our new 11am Services is this Sunday, 6th September.
The later start time at St G’s will enable all our services to reliably start on time, and ensure that Jonathan gets to spend time with each congregation after the service.
We hope that it will also remove several barriers that are hindering new people attending St G’s, and will make it easier to offer breakfast before the new all-age service or share lunch after other services.
There will be coffee available both before and after the 11am service each week using the new coffee machine upstairs in the Church Hall!
It will also mean that we can give a higher profile to healing ministry and prayer ministry than previously and, in time, it will make sending out and supporting mission teams from St G’s to our other churches possible.
Just a reminder that our Sunday morning service is at 10:30am on Sunday 12th July. We have a large number of baptisms and so we’re having a joint service to celebrate this wonderful occasion.
After the service we will be firing up the new Church Hall Barbecue and enjoying lunch together too! Should be a great time of fun and fellowship. See you there!
Reminder: the only service in the parish tomorrow (31st May) is at 10:30am in St G’s followed by lunch. Stephen Roberts from CAP is with us for our official Debt Centre launch, and we’ll be commissioning Beth as our debt centre manager. Should be a great time together in the Lord’s presence, and an opportunity to learn more about our CAP project. Hope to see you there!
At St. G’s we believe in the power of God to answer prayer, and while we wouldn’t want you to think that there’s any reason why God would answer our prayers and not yours, we’ve found that it can be helpful sometimes to have other people praying for you and with you, especially in those circumstances when you’re not even really sure how or what to pray in a situation.
So we just wanted to let you know that we’ve added the facility to submit a prayer request directly from this website.
All requests are treated confidentially and you don’t even have to fill in your name and contact details unless you want to. If you do, we will be able to get in touch to ask for more information or to follow up with you about your need if appropriate.
